Pont l'Abbé, major city of the Bigouden country
Pont l'Abbé is only 10 min by car from Loctudy, you can even get there by bike thanks to a beautiful cycle track that runs the 7km distance.
The town has recently been awarded the Villes et Villages fleuris label for its heritage enhancement. Beautiful walks are to be made on the towpath of the river Pont l'Abbé which goes from the town centre to Loctudy, you will see the sea birds nesting on the mudflat.

To visit: the Bigouden Museum located in the medieval keep of the former castle of the Barons du Pont. It retraces the art and popular traditions of the Pays Bigouden through the living environment, the costumes and headdresses and the local crafts.
The Pont l'Abbé market on Thursday mornings throughout the year is one of the largest markets in the region, offering local products, local food but also crafts, decorative objects and clothing.

The not-to-be-missed Embroiderers' Festival of Pont l'Abbé has been held every year for over 50 years. It takes place at the beginning of July for 4 days and honours the traditions of Bigouden and Brittany through music and dance in the streets of Pont l'Abbé. The queen of the Embroiderers is elected during these festivities.
